I enjoy that too. I used to sit and watch my girls or stand at the doorway and listen. Children need to have time to explore having fun by themselves and the world w/o anyone around.
This is one of my favorite things to do: Sneak up behind Morgan and listen to her play when she has absolutely no idea I'm there.
